Show Notes:
Run Time: 29:35
Release Date: November 30, 2025
1. The samples from The Simpsons comes from the episode titled "Lisa the Vegetarian" (season 7, episode 5, 1995). You can see a clip of this episode that contains all the samples I've included herein on YouTube.
2. The jaunty industrial soundtrack music over which I speak in this episode comes from The Simpsons episode "Last Exit to Springfield" (season 4; episode 17). It plays during the part where Mr. Burns and Smithers run the plant themselves. You can see a clip of that here.
3. As promised, here's the link for my bro's documentary on Virus X, which he produced with Shepard Moon Studios. Check it out, it's a fun watch about real people making the music they want to make in all it's messy glory.
And finally ...
1. If you like what you've heard, tell a friend or 10 or give the show a shout out on whatever social media you might have. It would mean a lot and I would be most appreciative.
2. I am always on the lookout for new music, so if there's a band you think I should play on the show please tell me about it. Hit me up at joe3ofcp(at)gmail(dot)com or on Instagram @joe3_smith.
3. Finally, if you're in a band, send along some MP3s of your music for possible inclusion in a future episode. I'm open to punk, hardcore, metal, alternative ... just about anything, really. No one ever takes me up on this, but you should. Do it!
Thank you very much for listening!

Show Notes:
1. The buzzing noise you hear at the beginning is a sample from my forays into circuit bending, which is something I'm mildly obsessed with. You can here it incorporated into a song called Pill Organizer from my one-man musical offering Rock Paper Sensors on Bandcamp. In fact, that's where the guitar riff I talk over at during the show is from as well. This is a brand new track, so check it out.
2. The sample of Mulder and Scully comes from the Simpsons episode titled "The Springfield Files" (season 8, episode 10, 1997). This episode is one of my all time favorites, and this monologue by Mulder is a favorite moment in it. You can see a clip of this on YouTube. The "I bring you love" clip is also from this episode. You can see a clip of that on YouTube as well.
And finally ...
1. If you like what you've heard, tell a friend or 10 or give the show a shout out on whatever social media you might have. It would mean a lot.

Notes on the show:
1. The introductory message for this show is from the (awesome) movie They Live (1988). You can hear it in what’s known as the “Bearded Man TV Transmission Scene.” I cut it a little bit, but you can here the whole thing (and watch the scene) on YouTube.
2. The music playing in the background while I’m speaking is part of “Insane in the Mule Train” by Clown Teeth. You can check out the song and learn more about the band on the Clown Teeth website and on Bandcamp. There's also an animated video for the song, which you can see by clicking the link.
3. medium.chaos is associated with the small Buffalo record label 1120 Records, which — full disclosure — is run by my brother Matt. He has also been working on a Virus X documentary since January. He just told me it'll be out November 6. How cool is that?
4. The bit at the end about these unhinged times being “what
Joe Strummer trained [us] for” is a clip from Henry Rollins’s appearance on the
Joe Rogan show (apparently). You can see/here more on YouTube.
A Request and a Few Reminders:

Additional Notes:
I put
this together on the afternoon of 08.24.25, while I should have been
doing stuff around the house. A seemingly endless amount of tinkering took place
after that.
Big thanks to the bands who agreed to be part of the show and to Irish Voodoo Records (@irishvoodoorecords).
The radio static in the beginning is from the faux-retro countertop
radio in my kitchen.
The music you hear underneath my voice is a sample of "Thank You Notes in Absentia" by Clown Teeth (@clownteeth_official). You can find Clown Teeth jams on Bandcamp and all the streams.
And Finally …
1) If you like what you've heard, please rate this show (favorably!) on Spotify.
2) If you're in a band, send some MP3s of your music to me at joe3ofcp(at)gmail(dot)com for possible inclusion in a future episode. I'm open to punk, hardcore, metal, alternative … just about anything, really. Do it!
