Notes on the show:
1. The introductory message for this show is from the (awesome) movie They Live (1988). You can hear it in what’s known as the “Bearded Man TV Transmission Scene.” I cut it a little bit, but you can here the whole thing (and watch the scene) on YouTube.
2. The music playing in the background while I’m speaking is part of “Insane in the Mule Train” by Clown Teeth. You can check out the song and learn more about the band on the Clown Teeth website and on Bandcamp. There's also an animated video for the song, which you can see by clicking the link.
3. medium.chaos is associated with the small Buffalo record label 1120 Records, which — full disclosure — is run by my brother Matt. He has also been working on a Virus X documentary since January. He just told me it'll be out November 6. How cool is that?
4. The bit at the end about these unhinged times being “what
Joe Strummer trained [us] for” is a clip from Henry Rollins’s appearance on the
Joe Rogan show (apparently). You can see/here more on YouTube.
A Request and a Few Reminders:
1. If you like what you've heard, please tell a friend about the show!
2. If you're in a band, send some MP3s of your music to me at joe3ofcp(at)gmail(dot)com for possible inclusion in a future episode. I'm open to punk, hardcore, metal, alternative … just about anything, really. Do it!
3. I am always on the lookout for new music, so if there's a band you think I should play on the show, please tell me about it. Hit me up at the email address I spelled out in item number 2 or on Instagram @joe3_smith.
Thank you very much for listening!
